Ok it’s time to introduce you to an idea that kept me awake a couple of weeks ago and that I couldn’t let go since. While writing a blogpost today I wasn’t able to focus on that topic. So I consider it something worth completing. I have been involved in community building, online publishing and sustainability for some time now. And I enjoy working in the field of communication, digital and sustainability. My slogan is ‘Mobilizing my community to use online marketing & communication tools for the benefit of people, planet and prosperity’. Let’s make take that to the next level.

Let’s start the CSR Conversation

A lot of websites, fora, LinkedIn Groups, individuals etc focus corporate social responsibility and this project isn’t going to replace all that. Hopefully, this project will make a lot of these efforts more visible and create some synergy amongest all those initiatives by corporates to make sustainability part of their corporate identity.
What I have in mind:

I wish to create a platform for CSR professionals that have a passionate desire on making the corporations they work for ready for a sustainable future with respect for people, planet and profit.

CSRConversation.net is a platform that brings together professionals and their passionate stories about people, planet and profit.

I would like to show you how you can use online marketing & communication tools to build an audience and engage with that audience. The outcome: a community around any topic that can benefit your dream.

The process will be documented on this blog and through this Story on Storify.

The first steps in this process started a couple of weeks ago.

Sofar, I have taken these steps.

CSR Conversation

  • A draft version of my plan:

    • Build a publishing platform for CSR professionals.
    • Document the process of building that platform.
    • Consider target group.
    • Consider topics (still under consideration :) )
  • Register a domain name.
  • After quick consideration and based on experience I decided on a publishing tool: a content management system, called WordPress hosted by WordPress.com.
  • Register a Twitter account. http://www.twitter.com/csrconversation
  • Setup a Facebook page.

Storytelling about this project

After writing this blogpost your can track activities on

  • this blog
    • Overview of both the progress on CSRConversation.net and on the storytelling part.
  • Facebook
    • Explaining why I make certain steps.
